The virtual season of Formula One came to an end this Sunday at the Canadian Grand Prix, where Esteban Gutiérrez reached his fourth consecutive podium by finishing in third place behind Alex Albon and George Russell.
“It has been an honor to represent Mercedes in the virtual Formula One championship. There were several months of intense work and adaptation to the virtual racing world so I’m happy to see how competitive we were on the last races.
“I definitely enjoyed this experience, the competition on track was extreme. It was very fun and special to share these races with my fans. I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout these past weeks”, Gutiérrez said.
Esteban will continue preparing himself for the start of the 2020 Formula One season as he must be ready in case Mercedes, McLaren or Racing Point needs him on track.
“We are days away from the official start of the 2020 season. It will be a different and intense season for Formula One, and I am sure it will be exciting.
“I will be working very hard during the next few weeks just like I’ve been doing throughout this year, as I must be ready in case the team needs me on the track”, he assured.
