Esteban Gutiérrez achieves first Virtual F1 podium

Esteban Gutierrez got his first podium in the virtual Formula One championship by crossing the finish line of the Spanish Grand Prix in third place.

Gutiérrez started the race in second place alongside Williams driver George Russell, who took Pole Position; however, he took the lead by overtaking the Briton at the start

“I am very happy with the result. I knew it was very important to qualify ahead to achieve the podium. I also had a very good start that was a key to putting myself as the leader of the race”, explained Esteban.

Although Esteban did everything to resist the pressure that Charles Leclerc imposed on him from the start of the race, Ferrari’s driver overtook him in the second lap using his DRS; Russell passed him on lap 6.

“Charles and George’s pace was very strong so it was difficult to keep them behind. However, I was aware that I had everything to remain on the Top 3. I am very proud of this result with Mercedes”, Esteban said.

Gutiérrez had an important weekend as he also reached a podium on the second round of The Race All-Star Series Pro Cup championship. He became the leader of this championship with this result.

“It has been a very positive weekend. I’m glad to see that the hours I have dedicated to my training are paying off. I look forward to the next races”, he said.
